Custom / Special Order Nets
A lot of the nets I build are Custom nets. Some of these nets are using specific wood chosen by a customer.
Some are made of wood sent to me by a customer. Perhaps from a tree in their yard or their grandparents yard. Perhaps an old bannister in their house. I made a net from mahogany flooring out of a old family house that was on their property that had fallen into disrepair and needed to be torn down.
Some of the handles are made more personal using a customers ideas or even a favorite fly placed in a void in the wood and epoxied in place.

A few things to remember.
Custom nets are never less expensive. Even if the only difference is that you supply the wood it will not cost less. The reason for this is once I receive your wood it needs to be be processed completely separately from everything in our shop. Moisture content needs to be checked, the entire process is a “one off” and the extra time offsets the cost of the wood savings. Usually there is not an up charge for using your wood if it is delivered as requested
If you want custom handles, inlays, your favorite flies epoxied into the handle or other custom work it is all changed by the hour.
Custom nets can range in price from $185.00 – $500.00 and more, depending on your request and it’s requirements.

I also make and ship some net bows without a bag. This allows the customer to “sew” in their own bag of choice. I only hang fish friendly bags in our nets as I know most all of my nets go to quality fly fishermen and stewards of fly fishing. I also know some of my nets never go fishing at all and may hang in their den or above their bar or fireplace. In these cases the customer may choose a bag with color to match a surrounding or environment.
Hanging a bag on your own bow is not a difficult task. I usually do mine during football games in my living room.
